hill climb fitness test

The road to the radio towers is short, but features a super-steep grade up a 400-foot ascent.  requires good bike handling skills & slow-speed skills.  starts with a 28.5% grade section and then moderates (if you can call it that) to a 13-17% grade.  It really doesnt sound steep, but when you are on it, it is very difficult to climb - once you stop, its very difficult to restart.  still coughing 7 hours after.

tired mtb

almost flaked this morning on the mtb ride.  felt tired.  continued to feel tired during and after the ride.  just left too much on the hill yesterday, I think.  hopefully my crappy slothful session was worth something in the way of recovery.  I didn’t feel like I was recovering, but my HR says I did spend a good part of the ride in recovery zone.  we’ll see if I can motivate to get a run in tonight or tomorrow am before monday swim.
